Emotion has just recently come in to Jewelington’s life and he is having a hard time coping with it. It is unfamiliar and he does not like the chaotic feelings and loss of control that it causes. He never feels anything at a 5 level, everything is a 1 or an 8-9. He is basically a teenager who doesn’t understand the changes he is going through.
A few years ago, Jewelington made a dangerous deal with Caiphon, Prince of the Far Realm. He swore himself to Caiphon in exchange for powers born of the Far Realm. He plans on using this power of the Far Realm to kill aberrant creatures and eventually confront Caiphon himself.
He sees The Living Gate he was once a part of as a father figure, and one who is constantly disappointed in him. He continuously tries to impress the Gate through his actions, but since The Gate never speaks back, he assumes disappointment. He also feels personally responsible for the shattering of The Gate, and therefore personally responsible for its reformation.
He believes that the reformation of the Gate can be accomplished through gathering other Shardminds together to form a huge Avenger-like creature to wreak havoc among the creatures of the Far Realm, becoming an avatar of The Gate and eventually becoming a new version of The Gate.
He sees The Raven Queen as a mother figure. Easier to approach and communicate with than The Gate, but still difficult to impress.
